Summer Placements

Summer placements are a good opportunity to see what a traineeship is really like in a commercial law firm. We run two sets of six week placements from June until August in each of our offices. You will spend two four week placements in two of our three core business areas: Corporate, Dispute Resolution or Property and Construction.

During your time with us you will undertake various work for the team you are in such as drafting documents, proof reading, research work and visiting the High or Sheriff court as appropriate. By working in two different business areas you will be exposed to the different styles and procedures required to deliver our high quality legal service as well as meet a wide range of different people. This will allow you to decide if Burness suits you as an individual and would offer you an insight into the kind of training you may get as a trainee.
