Mark Ellis
Mark Ellis trained with Burness, and returned as a partner in the firm's corporate finance unit after having spent time working in the City of London with Hogan Lovells and Travers Smith. Mark advises on a broad range of corporate transactions, with a particular focus on private equity, venture capital, and corporate restructuring.
His recent work includes advising:
- M&C Energy Group on the acquisitions of Encore International; ETT; Utility Masters and Creative Energy Solutions;
- the founders and management team of Euro Environmental Group on the £20m MBO of the business funded by Sovereign Capital;
- the management of McKinnon & Clarke on their £23m MBO funded by Lyceum Capital;
- HBOS plc and the administrators on the restructuring, subsequent administration and share and asset disposals of the Kenmore Property Group.
Mark is recommended in Legal 500 as being “hands-on and pragmatic” and in Chambers UK as being "available, commercial and straightforward – he goes over and above what is expected".
Mark is a member of the Company Law Committee of the Law Society of Scotland.
