Lawyers to search the world for breach of copyright on Glasgow's iconic Dali

Salvador Dali’s Christ of St John of the Cross is owned by the city of Glasgow and is displayed at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.  It was bought in 1951 and the historic deal struck between the artist and city fathers also gave copyright of the image to the city. However, with the rise of the internet and various global publishing houses, it is now clear that some companies are using the image without permission – potentially costing the city many tens of thousands of pounds in lost royalties. Now the city has engaged Burness to trawl the world for breach of copyright in an attempt to recoup some of the lost revenue on behalf of the citizens of Glasgow.
