Partner Chris Mackay and Director Richard Farndale have been acting for Scottish Borders Council in successfully defending a claim from Scottish Borders Housing Association for originally £19m, relative to a housing stock transfer made in 2003. A legal "war of attrition" between the Council and the Housing Association has been settled with a £250,000 out of court payment and agreement on maintenance responsibility for a limited number of assets.

Chris Mackay said: “We are delighted to have been able to resolve this matter for Scottish Borders Council. This was a long running dispute, where working together with the Council’s senior management, our strategic approach and detailed analysis paid real dividends and presented the opportunity for a very favourable settlement.”
