How it all works

What to expect

We run two six week placements, the first of these is from the beginning of June until mid July and the second programme running from mid July to the end of August.  You’ll spend your first three weeks in either Corporate, Dispute Resolution, Property or Construction and Projects followed by your remaining three weeks in a different department.

During your time with us you will undertake various work such as drafting documents, proof reading, research work or visiting the High Court or Sherriff Court.  You will receive proper legal work to do giving you a opportunity to decide if a  traineeship with Burness is for you.

By working in different business areas you will be exposed to the different styles and procedures required to deliver our high quality legal service, as well as meet a wide range of people.
